I’m not sure if Sunday is the official day of strolls, but I put together a few shots of a recent one that seem to fit the mood. The covered passageways of Paris are one of the true throwbacks to the 1800’s, where time seems to stand still and you can almost smell the gas that would’ve been burning in the lamps above. Often packed full of vintage bookstores, stamp shops, cafés and specialty boutiques, they form wonderful little cocoons insulated from the boulevards they connect to. Still peppered all over town, these passages are numerous enough to salvage an entire rainy day if you mapped it out right.
These are a couple of rather festive ones I passed through recently, unaware at the time I was walking toward a very cool experience that would become Where Everybody Knows Your Name.
