Bus Stop History

This is our bus stop, just across the street of our building. It’s not the most beautiful pic I’ve ever taken, but I just want to share how bad-ass it is that my bus stop is named after Joan of Arc. She gets a lot of respect in this country, best known for having marched the French army from town to town in the 15th century, kicking the asses of many men older and stronger than herself. Many villages out in the countryside boast of having been one of her stopping points back in the day. She was captured by the opposition and burned at the stake for heresy at the age of 19, and years later when her trial was re-examined and she was found innocent, the French raised her to martyr status. Who said waiting for the bus couldn’t be historically enlightening?
